Microneedling Treatment

Microneedling in Nashville | Collagen Induction Therapy

All the benefits of a laser treatment, without the actual laser!

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is one of the least invasive forms of skin rejuvenation, yet an effective treatment providing gentle resurfacing of the skin using the natural healing response of the body.

Microneedling involves the use of an automated skin pen containing tiny sterile microneedles which create numerous microscopic injuries in both the upper epidermal layer and deeper dermal layer of the skin.

The end result of laser treatments is a controlled wound-healing response leading to an increase in collagen and elastin production and a healthy glow.

What are the benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling treatments are safe, minimally invasive, and effective for anti-aging as well as several different dermatologic conditions including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Acne scars

  • Uneven skin texture

  • Rejuvenating the skin’s tone

  • Enlarged pores

  • Stretch marks

  • Stimulates and boosts natural collagen production

  • Skin tightening

How do I prepare for a Microneedling treatment?

We encourage patients to make sure to wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher everyday before and after the treatment to prevent sun damage and minimize discomfort.

Aggressive skincare products like retinols should be avoided 5 days or more before your procedure. You should avoid excessive sweating from exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers for 24 hours post-treatment. Additional instructions will be given to you on the day of the procedure.

Is Microneedling Safe for All Skin Types?

Yes, microneedling treatments can be used on any skin type and all skin tones. During your consultation, you can find out more about being a candidate for this treatment.

Is there any recovery time with Microneedling?

You will be red for about 48 hours immediately after your microneedling treatment, but this is simply the skin reacting to the punctures and working to heal them. You can resume normal activities shortly after your treatment.

At Skin Solutions, we guarantee realistic expectations for our patients. The real results from microneedling build over several weeks, as new collagen and elastin are produced and sent to the treatment areas. Your skin continues to improve for up to six months and the effects are long-lasting!

How many Microneedling sessions will I need to see desired results?

We recommend at least three microneedling sessions to improve skin texture and wrinkles. For skin problems with serious acne scars and scarring, 3-6 treatments could be necessary to gain enough new collagen to reduce the scarring. The deeper the wrinkles, the more treatments might be needed.

At Skin Solutions Dermatology, our professionally trained providers will consult patients on the correct number of treatments for you and your skin!

What makes Microneedling different at Skin Solutions?

We offer the latest technology in microneedling.

At our Hendersonville location, we offer Vivace lasers for Microneedling. Vivace Radiofrequency Microneedling combines microneedling, radiofrequency, and LED light to deeply and precisely stimulate collagen and elastin and improve skin quality in a way that other microneedling modalities cannot.

At our Brentwood location, we offer Scarlet radiofrequency microneedling. Scarlet radiofrequency microneedling individually heats each needle to penetrate the treatment area.

Whether you choose Vivace or Scarlet microneedling, both are effective to treat fine lines and wrinkles, and other skin concerns.

We offer cost-effective options for microneedling.

Both locations offer Dermapen treatments that do not use radiofrequency microneedling to heat up the needles and require more downtime. However, Dermapen treatments are more cost-effective if you are considering microneedling.

We offer treatments with Platelet-rich plasma

Microneedling with PRP (also known as a Vampire Facial) is a procedure that uses tiny needles and Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP. We obtain PRP by drawing a small sample from your arm’s blood vessels into a sterile tube. This blood sample is centrifuged to separate your plasma, which we use for the treatment, from your red and white blood cells.

Plasma contains a high concentration of platelets, stem cells, and growth factors. Platelets help your tissue heal and grow new cells. When PRP is used with microneedling treatment, it penetrates your body and skin through the tiny channels the microneedles create and supercharges the benefits!
