What is Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris?
Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris (PRP) is a skin condition that causes reddish-orange scaly patches and plaques on the skin.
Who is at risk?
People with a family history of PRP, those taking certain medications (like kinase inhibitors), and those with HIV/AIDS may be at a higher risk of developing PRP. In some cases, infections or vaccinations may also be associated with PRP, but this is not a consistent finding.
What are the signs and symptoms?
Some signs and symptoms of PRP include reddish-orange scaly patches and plaques, small bumps around hair follicles, thickening of the skin on the palms and soles of the feet, and areas of unaffected skin within affected areas.
