What are Trauma or Heat Blisters?
Blisters are small pockets of fluid that form between the skin layers. They are typically raised, bubble-like lesions. The fluid inside is usually clear, but it can also be bloody or pus-filled if infected.
Who is at risk?
People who are very active, wear poorly-fitting shoes, do manual labor, or are exposed to chemicals or excessive heat are at greater risk for developing blisters.
What are the signs and symptoms?
Blisters can be painful or itchy, and may be surrounded by redness, especially if there is an underlying condition or infection.
